Works great, compact, NOT a voltage converter Dec 20, 2009 I used 2 of these in several international trips. The USB port DOES charge your iphone but just as if you were charging from the USB port on your computer, it does so VERY slowly. Bring along your wall adaptor (you were going to plug the phone it at the airport anyway, right?) and charge it using the wall plug (plus this adaptor). You have to press very hard to overcome the spring which otherwise covers the prong insertion holes, which is scary since you fear breaking it. The springs tend to be looser if you plug your US item into the adaptor first, and then plug the whole thing into the wall. Also, European outlets seem "looser" than US ones----the adaptor's very small weight caused it to tip out of the socket precariously. Once you get the hang of plugging in your items, it works great. I was scared a little bit since it shipped from outside the US, but the item arrived within a week. Also, as many other reviewers noted, this is NOT a voltage converter. In Europe I didn't need one (US products tend to be rated for US and European voltages, but check your items).
