| | Description | Bose around-ear headphones answer the call for smooth, high-performance sound in a very lightweight package. Hear a greater range of music whether you're plugged into a computer or on the go with a portable media device. Their ergonomic design keeps them remarkably comfortable and lightweight, even as proprietary Bose headphone technology reveals the rich acoustical landscape of your music. With Bose technology, you don't have to compromise the quality of your audio just because you're listening through a pair of headphones. Our acoustic equalization techniques deliver the rich nuances of your music that conventional headphones often lose. You hear the intricate notes of an acoustic guitar, the full range of vocals and even the beat of a drum with greater clarity and impact. Our unique TriPort acoustic headphone structure faithfully reproduces deep, full low notes without requiring the artificial bass boost function found on many portable players.Soft ear cushions gently fit around your ear for hours of comfortable listening. A thin, adjustable headband has several head size settings and the earcups swivel for a better fit. An additional benefit of Bose TriPort headphone technology is that it helps reduce headphone size without sacrificing performance, resulting in a total weight of only five ounces. excellent Mar 21, 2010 Fit well, sound great, lightweight and easily transportable - exactly what I was looking for.
$150 bucks..what a rip off.! Dec 30, 2009 Just to be short here..the headphones are too fragile and not reliable.
Few months with it and the ear pad start to unglued...I checked with Bose and the replacement part was ridiculous expensive. Conclusion: I took both out stitched and put it back uala..fixed hehe
Well few more months down the road the left adjuster cracked..I was pissed already and just taped it really tight and that was it.
Now the bottom where the head part connect to the speaker just broke completely and now way to fix it..
The bottom line is..the headphone is plastic made..and will break eventually..no matter how careful you are.
So for me if something is doomed to break it's not worth to buy it..
Make yourself a favor and put your money somewhere else.

$140 Headphone Should Not 'Just Fall Apart'. Do Not Buy! Sep 22, 2009 I loved these headphones while they were in one piece. Sure they were a little bulky but the sound quality more than made up for any inconvenience. I have always trusted the Bose name and was fully confident that my money would be well-spent.
Just a little over 1 year after buying these one of the ear-cups just magically separated itself from the headband. It just came apart. I don't think I did anything to deserve this. I certainly didn't abuse them.
I contacted Bose Customer Service and they pretty much left me high and dry. They've got my good money, but all I've got are earphones I can't enjoy.
I came to Amazon to shop for replacements and learned that others have had exactly the same problem.
One thing is clear, I will not be buying Bose headphones ever again.
Nice but don't deliver evenly through the entire frequency range.. Aug 14, 2009 I have borrowed these today from a friend who just got them and was at first very excited to get my hands on (or better ears under) a real legendary Bose product! But eventually was disappointed and glad I did not buy them. (I own a Sony MDR-V6, Koss Porta-Pro, some old bulky AKGs, and several sets of earbuds from Sony, Sennheiser and worst ever Apple iPod ear plugs)
So after running a BBC Test CD (which I have acquired from an old friend ex-sound technician from the UK) and my other favorite CDs here are my pros and cons regarding fit and sound quality:
Pros
- Very comfortable and light weight. The cushion is amazing indeed with soft touch and nice pressure insulation. Fit is easily adjustable.
- Low, very nice low frequency response (the bass gets right at you) with rich smooth feel to it! (Best I ever heard so far) I heard everything from 16Hz, and 20Hz was almost as audible is 100Hz on most headphones. It is amazing indeed!
- High, very nice high response as well! 18Khz were as pinching as 15Khz and 10Khz. 20Khz were not as much (I am 24 - so can hear that stuff well)
Con's
- Very poor response in the mid-lows (100-200Hz) and 1-5Khz (which is the best part on many songs!) - I was very disappointed with this and very surprised! I would say it seems the frequency response on these headphones design is tuned for improved lows and middle-upper heights, which certainly would impress any listener - because this is what most (!) other headphones usually miss. But the problem is that it lacks the rest which makes for music experience being rich but unnatural. In fact I was not able to enjoy my favorite parts in Jazz and Pop music.
- Audio insulation not so nice. Although the cushions sit very nicely griping around your ears and you can sense air pressure on putting on and taking off the headphones, the ambient sound still made it when music played at low levels. I have had better experiences with other headphones!
Regarding the price - it's in not too bad for such a product (~ $130) but you can find better options for that much or even less.

Horribly fragile even if the sound quality is good - don't get tempted to buy this. Jun 21, 2009 The sound quality when I bought it was impressive, but the construction was really, really poor quality.
* The stem of the ear-piece broke - after I stuck one of them with tape/super-glue, the other one broke also. I super-glued the other one
also.
* The wire came apart close to the connector. This was partly because of an accidental rough handling on my part (I was normally very careful, but you can't be too careful all the time). In any case, I wouldn't have expected it to give way so easily - this is just really poor design. Having come this far, and not willing to give up, I then soldered the connection back, and stuck tape around the wires - the wires are really thin, and I haven't quite gotten the connection to reliably work.
* The next problem I had was the cloth around the sponge at the ear piece just came out at the seams. I think this was just stuck with glue and probably came apart. That seems to be rudimentary design flaw - can't they stitch it or do something else to make it a little more permanent.
If you are even a bit quality conscious, please, please stay away from this product, or you will suffer my pain. It's just sad that the phones sound so good.
I haven't tried Sony or the other phones, but I just have a bad impression of Bose's mechanical design and construction now, and I will try my best to avoid them in the future.
