 Makes the DSi weigh too heavy Jan 28, 2010
This case adds a lot of weight and thickness to the DSi b/c of the aluminum. Once you snap it on, it will be very difficult to remove, so it really should be treated as a permanent fixture on your DSi. Since I didn't like the chunky, heavy feel of this case enclosing my DSi, especially for hand held games, it was not practical for me to keep this since the case can't be easily removed. The metallic magenta color is attractive and the finishing is nice, but overall the weight was the killer for me. Btw, you can get this case cheaper on ebay. The other con is that metal isn't a shock absorber, so if you drop it on the floor, your DSi can still be damaged on the inside from the impact. Overall, this didn't work out for me so I returned it and got the DSi wallet instead (made by Nintendo), which I recommend. I'll give it 2 stars for looks.

I would call this color more of a magenta than a rose red. I got another case of this exact model in metallic green, and both are very attractive.
I love my case. I snapped one on my DSi almost immediately and I love how it fits very snugly while all the (many) ports and the camera lens are completely accessible. The case weighs very little but seems quite strong. I am not very careful with my devices but I have not managed to scratch it yet.
