I wouldn't recommend purchasing this item. Mar 12, 2009 This item took nearly three weeks to deliver. It also displays the temperature in degrees celcius, not ferinheit. Looks cheaply made and may have unsafe materials in the paint as it is made and shipped from Asia.
Cute and does the job Dec 03, 2008 I have owned this item for about a month and I use it when giving bath to my 8-month old boy. The temperature range is from 34 to 44 degrees C with 2 degrees interval, in metric unit only. When not in use, the display panel is black. When in water, it almost shows the temperature instantly. And it typically show two temperature readings in different colors. For example if the water temperatur is between 34 and 36 C but closer to 36, then it shows the 36 in white color and the 34 in green color, etc.
So far I have no problem with this item yet. This is the third I have bought for showing bath temperatures (the first was a floating turtle from Baby's Rus but it broke after only two days of use, probablly because water got into the battery unit. The secont is a duck with only the text display "HOT", but it's ambiguous because it says that the text would turn white when the water is hot, but when I use it, most of time it is a greyish color which is impossible to tell if the water is too hot. After these two I have looked for a good thermometer in every store I go to and finally found this one here.) Compare to the other two, this piggy bath thermometer does not use batteries and the temperature reading is relatively precise. I'd recommend this item if you are or can become used to metric temperature units.
