3Great fun, but gets way too hard and could use a few more levels.  Jan 11, 2010
This game is very fun, the physics are great. My problems are that it gets RIDICULOUSLY hard later in the game. I mean it. Also, for the price I think they could have included a few more levels, or at least some levels that had different looks to them. Each level pretty much looks exactly like the last which can get a little boring on the eye-candy side. The entire game is basically play inside of a warehouse setting, but whatever. My other gripe is that it can be pretty darn glitchy from time to time, especially some of the mini-game challenges.

5You will play this more than most $60 games... It's THAT good!  Dec 02, 2009
I bought Trials HD and Shadow Complex at about the same time this summer and only played Trials for an hour or so while I obsessed over Shadow Complex (another must-buy game) for several weeks. After that first hour, I was upset at myself for having blown the same amount of money on Trials as I did on SC. I thought Trials was just a simple game without much depth for the money. I didn't end up playing it again for almost two months. What an IDIOT I was! I think I started showing it to a friend in October. He really liked it and then I got into it again.

Here's the thing. I'm 35. I don't have time to play games the way I used to in my youth. I play lots of games on the Easy and Normal setting because I just want to enjoy myself and experience the storyline. I don't like being frustrated. I don't like beating my head against the wall trying to get through hard parts in games. I just like seeing all the levels and having fun. I like getting achievements, but I generally give up if they are too hard. My philosophy generally is that there are too many good games out there for me to waste my time being frustrated and unhappy while I struggle on the higher difficulty levels.

This game has changed me. It makes you want to keep trying. It makes you proud of yourself for pursuing perfection. I can't count the hours I've spent playing this game but I've heard some of the top players have logged over 150 hours in the game. It starts out easy but becomes incredibly challenging. The subtlety in the controls will really impress you when you've put enough time in to appreciate them.

This is also a great game to play with friends over. It is fun to watch and fun to hand the controller back and forth with friends. The many crashes and explosions are always funny and never get old.

The only annoying thing about the game is that you can only share tracks you make in the amazing track editor with people on your friends list. You can't share your levels with strangers and you can't download tracks from strangers. I don't know if this was a decision by the developer to ensure they controlled the tracks or if Microsoft prevented them from letting us download free tracks. Either way, it was a VERY BAD decision. Anyone who has played Little Big Planet on the PS3 knows that there are thousands of amazing, FREE levels created by other users. Here's hoping this is fixed in a future update or expansion pack.

Regardless of this one issue, there is more than enough content in the game to make this game worth every penny and more. Once you start playing this, you'll be on YouTube, watching videos on how to master each track and shave a few more seconds off your time. The game becomes punishingly hard and I'm not sure I will EVER pass all of the Extreme levels, but the game really does have that magic factor that keeps you coming back. If you consider yourself a gamer, get this game! And if you like it, look me up on live to let me know... Mr Therapy

5Wow, so much fun and so simple to play!  Oct 19, 2009
If you have siblings, or friends that like to get together and laugh, this game is perfect. From the courses to the mini games this game is both uncomplicated and fun. It has simple controls, like forward, reverse, lean forward, lean back, and an occasional bailout button. My little brother has mastered the game, he is 13, and my not-so-good with video games girlfriend can hold her own and even set a few records. We sit and play this game, passing off the controller to one another, trying to beat each others scores or do the craziest crashes. Sense the rules of the game are simple, you can make up your own half the time.

There are 2 downfalls/challenges to the game. 1)The difficult tracks. They are really hard and you may find yourself thinking they are crazy if they think you should be able to do it. But, it always works out and you will feel good for doing what no one else figured out. 2)The violence. The blood is not often seen and in comparison to most games today it is not a lot. However, the crashes are often expansive and can leave your drivers falling long distances, hitting a lot of objects, being blown up, etc. and all while often making painful (I believe they are supposed to be comical) sounds. This is really up to the parent/individual to decide if this is appropriate.

All-in-all, this game is a blast! It is just old fashioned gamer fun. Side scrolling at it's best. Hope this helps and I hope that you enjoy this game and have all the laughs my family and friends have had playing trials.

Remember to keep online gaming clean! God bless!

5Master the Rear Wheel and you've got it! -Updated  Oct 14, 2009
This game starts out pretty innocent. Totally awesome graphics, effects, controls, and just plain fun. Pretty soon though, it gets very hard. About midway through the Medium levels, you realize how hard this game is, and once you get midway through hard you may just throw your controller. WAIT - don't! While this game is hard, it is very easy to practice over and over. By pressing the B button, you are instantly put back on two wheels at the last check point. (Or press Select to start the level over). You could knock down over 50 attempts in about a minute or two until you get it right, and then the next checkpoint is just over that bump. Still wanna throw your controller? WAIT - don't! This game turns out to be all about the rear wheel. If you can master when to apply your rear wheel to the ground, you will have a much easier time getting through the levels... still hard, but easier. You can't accelerate if your rear wheel is off the ground, so the longer your rear wheel is on the ground the faster you'll go!

After you pass some of the harder levels, press Y to see the leaderboards, and then check out the replays from the #1 slots. Keep a close eye on the rear wheel action, I've learned a lot by watching what others do.

Another tip: Leaning one way then the other can result in some serious instabillity (true to physics) so be careful not to overcompensate!

1-19-2010 EDIT: I'm still totally addicted to this game, so here is another tip. Learn to "bunny hop" for those Hard and Extreme levels. If you accelerate while leaning back, then quickly lean forward, you can hop up on things easier. I find the Hard levels totally manageable now (still no Gold medals), and I've beat all the Extreme tracks... once I figured out the bunny hop.

DLC (BIG Track Pack) also available now, and totally worth the measly $5.

5Excite Bike 2009  Sep 25, 2009
This is modernized Excite Bike except your bike never over-heats. I downloaded the demo yesterday and bought the full version first thing this morning. I cannot tell you enough how fun and awesome this game is. Fantastic!
